6月25日联邦自由党国会领袖Dominic LeBlanc发布声明，列举保守党失败的外交政策记录：
“哈珀10年，对立分裂和高度党派化外交政策已经成为其标志。联邦自由党不会跟随哈珀的鲁莽做法。联邦自由党全力支持全球对抗ISIL的工作。我们可以也应该像我们的盟友一直在做的一样，远离前线来训练队伍。我们还需要有资金充沛的国际人道援助力量，同时，联邦自由党呼吁政府增加收容叙利亚难民数量至25,000名。”
“然而，哈珀却把我们拉入一个没有明确具体目标、没有退出战场策略的作战任务。保守党的部长们声称：我们将‘长期’参与叙利亚战斗任务，如同我们在阿富汗一样。保守党想让加拿大在叙利亚待上10年。
“联邦自由党很早前就说过，希望加拿大能够重建与伊朗的关系，帮助在伊朗的加拿大人和伊朗人民。哈珀似乎忘了伊朗政权并不一定代表伊朗人民或为其说话。联邦自由党明确表示，这取决于很多因素，包括对侵犯人权的担忧和P5+1与伊朗之间的谈判结果。我们的目标仍然是要有一个全面的协议，确保伊朗不能获得核武器。哈珀说即使有进展或改革，都永远不会与伊朗人接触。哈珀极度党派化的做法可笑且幼稚。”
“加拿大国民知道，哈珀无法与和他意识形态相悖的人开展建设性合作。他对北美外交最近的贡献是取消与墨西哥和美国领导人的三方高峰会。我们需要恢復合作。一个活跃、积极参与的加拿大有利加拿大国民及国际社会。联邦自由党会带来真正变革，处理加拿大与世界关系。”
Harper’s failed foreign policy record
Liberal House Leader, Dominic LeBlanc, today issued the following statement on the Conservatives’ weak foreign policy record:
“After 10 years under Stephen Harper, divisive and hyper-partisan foreign policy has become his trademark. Liberals will take no lessons from Mr. Harper and his reckless approach.
“Liberals are fully committed to the global effort to confront ISIL. We can – and should – be training away from the front lines, as our allies have been doing. A well-funded international humanitarian aid effort is also needed, and Liberals have called on the federal government to expand the target number of Syrian refugees to Canada to 25,000.
“Instead, Mr. Harper has committed us to an ill-defined combat mission with no concrete objectives and no exit strategy. His Conservative Ministers have pledged that we will be there for the ‘longer term’ – comparing it to our commitment in Afghanistan. The Conservatives want Canada to be there for a decade.
“Liberals have long said that we hope Canada will be able to re-establish our presence in Iran, which would help Canadians in Iran and the Iranian people. Mr. Harper seems to forget that the Iranian regime does not always represent or speak for the Iranian people. We have been clear that this will depend on many factors, including concerns over human rights abuses and the outcome of negotiations between the P5+1 and Iran. Our objective remains a comprehensive agreement that ensures Iran cannot acquire a nuclear weapon.
“Mr. Harper said he will never engage with the Iranian people, even if progress or reforms are achieved. His hyper-partisan approach is ridiculous and childish.
“Canadians know that Mr. Harper is unable to work constructively with people who do not share his ideology. His last contribution to North American diplomacy was to cancel a trilateral summit with the leaders of Mexico and the United States.
“We need to restore cooperation. An active, engaged Canada is good for Canadians and the global community. Liberals will bring real change to the way we manage our relationships around the world.”
