当看到天边的月亮联想到披萨饼时,那就是Amore

“When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie. That’s Amore”

Last week I interviewed him at one of his Pizza Nova locations, to ask him about his business, and the introduction of his new pepperoni that is made from beef and pork “that is raised without hormones or anti-biotics” pepperoni.  He says Pizza Nova is the only pizza chain in Canada, so far, to use pepperoni that contains no hormones and no anti-biotics.  He says he’s always on the look-out for improvements that make his pizza taste good and that are also good for you.  He says “Healthy can taste good”.

j1-1

Pizza Nova has always been a family business, that started in 1963. Their tomato sauce is made from tomatoes that are packed within 6 hours of being picked. They say that this freshness improves the product and is one of the reasons why their slogan is: “Taste the Difference.”

Domenic hasn’t forgotten the days when he was growing up in the business where, as a kid, he did menial jobs, like washing dishes. Today, he’s a hands-on executive, who hasn’t forgotten where he came from. He was featured in an episode of “Undercover Boss”, where he was “hired” as an employee in one of his stores. He said he loved returning back to basics, to the days where he started, at the bottom.

He strongly believes in giving back to the community, through his many philanthropic activities. One of the projects that he’s most proud of is his annual “That’s Amore Pizza for Kids” event for Variety Village, for which he’s raised over 1.2 million dollars over the past 15 years.

For Domenic Primucci, he can say of his business: “That’s Amore!”.
